Assignment:

• Choose an article from a science journal such as Science News, Scientific American, Popular Science, Nursing, or Discover. If you find an article from another source which you would like to use please get permission from me first.
• Take notes on the article.
• Use your notes and cut out words, and add connecting words to create a 100-175 word summary.
• Create a topic outline based on your notes.
• Create a literature cited reference for the article using scientific format.
• Be sure you hand in the abstract, article, outline and  literature cited reference  to receive credit.

Abstract Evaluation:
You must be able to answer yes to all of the following to receive credit for your abstract.

Did you hand in the article with your abstract?
Did you hand in a literature cited reference?
Did you hand in an outline?

__________  Neatness- written without cross outs in ink or typed (5 points)

__________  Completeness: Does it accurately and completely summarize the article? (15 pts)

__________  Is the science in your abstract correct (5 pts)

__________ Style: is it well written. I will look for connecting words. It should flow. (5 points)

__________ Literature cited reference: Is it correctly done and punctuated? (10 pts)
